Team work

Everyone in a snapshot!

When we started this task I knew there were going to be a lot of people involved, from the excavation to building and concrete to electrical. I did not know that all of these people would be working together, on one project.

As those of you know live in Michigan know, its been a cold few weeks. We have had freezing temperatures and blistery winds, and here we are, the crazy ones, trying to get a building up. Concrete does not like cold weather and that was the task at hand this past week. Concrete needs to be warm enough in order to cure properly, the warmer it is outside the faster this happens. If temperatures get too cold, 22 degrees to be exact, the concrete will freeze and "pop" or "crack". We definitely had our work cut out for us!

The concrete team is someone who Tim did work for back in his college days, Mark Wright. He is a great guy who had a few others there to help him out. Our construction crew was also there to help and wasn't afraid to jump right in! The guys from Alt Oil Co., that weren't delivering were out there also. The concrete pumping truck, Lakeshore Concrete  Pumping came to distribute the concrete from Huizenga Redimix. It was all hands on deck! When you have a 50 x 120 building it takes a big crew, and two separate concrete pouring days to finish the job. It took about 4 days in total to get the whole thing done. A lot of shoveling and team work went on out there, and we FINISHED! It is now closed up with tarp until the doors come in and heaters were brought in to ensure there was no "pop".

Now we wait for a good day to install doors, things sure are looking different!

Its a blue roof!!

"There is no substitute for hard work" -Thomas Edison

Things have been plugging away at Alt Oil Co. We now have steel siding, windows, and our BLUE ROOF! There has been so many things that made this all come together and we could not do it with out the hard work and long hours, of all the people involved.
The weather has been good to us so far, we are very thankful for that. We are now into the Concrete stage and are glad the siding is up to help with setting of it, we hope the weather allows for us to continue to move forward. (Who am I kidding, of course we are moving forward!) The guys are bundling up out there and trying to stay warm, they are definitely working hard to keep things moving!

Are you afraid of anything? Well, I am of heights. Watching those guys put steel on the roof and walk along those narrow boards on the edge freaks me right out! One of them however is so not afraid he finds enjoyment out of it. So much so, that he goes out of his way to take cool pictures for me! Yeah, I know, I'm pretty lucky. Some of the best pictures I have, have been from the people working on the job site itself. I love coming into work with a phone on my desk and a note saying, "Make sure you find the ones you like and send them to yourself." (We are all not technology gifted 😊) That being said, it is a team thing, things in life work best when you work as a team. Things at Alt Oil Co. happen as a team, and we are thankful for all those who make that hard work, work.

--- I cannot take credit for any of these bottom pictures, they are all from people who have been doing work on the building. Beautiful, right? Look at Duckie, it looks like he might be just hanging on for dear life! Alright, so he is a trained professional,                                                                       however, it makes me laugh. ---
